Party in the U.S.A. (part 2)

Britney Spears

Our first night in Vegas we had tickets to see Britney perform at the Planet Hollywood. Obviously she didn't sing live, but the performance she put on was out of this world. In true Britney style, everything was on point! Her costumes, her dancers and her props (including a giant tree which she jumped off of, while water was raining down from the ceiling. Descending from the sky with giant angel wings and appearing in the middle of a fire ring whilst cannons exploded across the stage). While she had a costume change and the dancers where doing there thing I decided now was a good opportunity to run to the toilet, where I overheard two guys talking about how she wasn't signing live and they better get laid for wasting there time coming here. So me being me, I had to say something. I walked over there and told them that she was a performer, what did they expect? She's dancing till the world ends! If they didn't want to be here then they should leave, they should give there ticket to someone who actually wanted it and with an attitude like that they certainly would not be getting laid!
I than sashayed off back to my seat.

The Grand Canyon

We had breakfast at the hotel before being picked up by a limo to take us to the airport where we would get a helicopter to the Grand Canyon. After meeting our pilot (who was GORGEOUS) we went through the safety features, got our life jackets and made our way into the helicopter. I managed to worm my way into the front of the helicopter next to Ben our pilot, so I had a perfect view out the window. And of Ben ;)
It took about 45 minutes to get from the airport to where we would land in the middle of the Canyon. Now if you don't like flying I wouldn't suggest getting in a helicopter, you feel every bump, movement and turn while looking out a window that fits about half the door.
On our way to the Canyon we flew past the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and followed the Colorado River through the Indian reservation.
Once we landed at the Canyon we where told we had 45 minutes to look around take pictures, and there would be a champagne lunch waiting for us if we got hungry. We took our pictures, played tourist and had a stroll around and walked back up to the helicopter where Ben had set up a picnic for us. It wasn't anything special, a glass of champagne, a turkey roll and a cookie. A bit dry but its not like I was there for the food. One of the couples that was in the helicopter with us was celebrating her 30th birthday. Her boyfriend surprised her with a cake and we all sat around and sang Happy birthday to her. After finishing the champagne and having a slice of the red velvet cake it was time to leave. On our flight back we did an areal tour of the strip before landing back at the airport, where we where greeted by our limo driver to take us back to our hotel.

The rest of the holiday we didn't really do anything major we just tried to fit in as much as possible. We had dinner at Nobu one night, then went to the rooftop bar at Omnia, which had great views of Vegas while we drank, danced and partied with some guys we met who had flown in from LA for the weekend. We looked around the hotels, which is a must for anyone who is visiting. They are spectacular! The Venetian, The Bellagio, MGM, Monte Carlo etc... We did the rollercoaster around New York New York, the stratosphere tower (where I was forced to partake in the rides on the top and almost sh*t myself!)

We did go to Hakkasan on Friday night, which I must say didn't live up to what everyone hyped it to be. Granted the sound system was awesome, but the dance floor was small, the downstairs room shut at 1 and the main room shut at 4. This is Vegas, the city that never sleeps right?
It hit 4am and we had to leave but we where in no state to go back to our room so we grabbed a drink at the casino bar. My friend asked me to order him a drink while he went to the toilet so I did. And that's where it all went downhill. He never cam back! After 20 minutes I started getting worried so I had a look around, messaged him tried ringing him but with no luck. After an hour of ringing someone picked up his phone, now this is when I started to panic. Had he been kidnapped? Had he been mugged? Where was he? Was he alive? Granted I was very drunk so my thoughts where all over the place, but I'm in the middle of America, on my own with no idea what's happened to my friend. I started to cry and rang my friend back home and asked what I should do. He suggested I should check the room. I wasn't going to go to the hotel to come back out, I had to make sure he wasn't around before I left. So after searching for 2 hours, and being hit on by a hooker (while sobbing my eyes out asking if the bar man had seen my friend) I decided to give up and go back. Where I found my friend in bed, perfectly safe with his phone next to him. At this point you can imagine, I was furious, I began throwing things around the room, I was hitting him. Rage just took over my body! I couldn't be in the same room with him so I went downstairs to the bar to drown my sorrows.

Needless to say the next day was very awkward, luckily it was our last day there so we quickly packed, checked out of the hotel and spent the day by the pool. In silence.

The flight back wasn't any less awkward, however we took the red eye so we both slept and ignored the problem....
